it's a sturdy mid century pocket knife with classic pin striping details on either side, narrower on one side and wider on the other
the case and bail are sterling silver with 12k yellow gold fill, and the knide blade is marked for stainless

while this shop doesn't pretend to know the grading of pen knife blades, this seems like a very usable, practical knife as a file or a knife. it's possible the knife blade will need sharpening or professional cleaning, but it doesn't know any noteworthy damage
the file was previously rusted into the case, and was oiled & cleaned, but could use some additional cleaning by a professional familiar with knives if desired
there's thinning to the 12k gold fill, revealing more of the silver color that lies beneath the yellow gold overlay
the case is securely on the knife, but there's a tiny bit of wiggle on the side with the narrower pinstripes
modest patina and surface scratches throughout the case
